Devonshire Grey Walling; A charming traditional walling stone native to the region of North Devon and widely used in rural hedge walling & tradition style dwellings. This unique rustic stone was laid down some 300 million years ago and has been quarried since the Medieval Times. Devonshire Grey Walling is a Carboniferous Gritstone (cemented Sandstone) and is quarried equidistant to Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks. The stone is carefully graded and hand selected for its shape and rich rustic colouring and is a great drystone walling material due to its natural flat faces. The rich iron browns, steel greys and olive greens wonderfully compliment each other and form a fantastic meaningful walling backdrop or boundary. A popular natural walling for use in the construction of Haha's and sculptural landforms.
